| When most people think of New Mexico, they generally think of dry desert, hot wind, sage brush, snakes, adobe homes and Area 51. And they would be correct, to some small extant. Not all of New Mexico is as barren as some would think. The pictures below were taken in the northern Sangre de Cristo mountains in an area owned the Rio Costilla Cattleman and Livestock Association (RCCLA). Ownership is passed down from generation to generation, which grants us access to areas normally off limits to non-owners. We opted to spend our Independence Day camping rather than lighting fireworks. |
